ABOUT ME |
Hi! I'm Cassidie, and I Have a
Photography Obsession
About
I do photography because I have a passion for it, and it gets me up and around rather than just sitting around doing nothing. Some goals with this are to try and make the whole photography thing a hobby and a career, I want to pursue the skills I have and want to do this as a job. So I kind of figure why can’t i do both. There is a story on how I got into photography, it isn’t as interesting as others, but here it is. One day I was taking photos of flowers with my phone and they turned out really good, I enjoyed how they turned out which led me to wanting a more professional camera, I asked for one and ended up getting one for christmas, after I got it, I went walking around the neighborhood looking around for good picture opportunities. I happened to find a rose with water drops on it, because it was raining before I went out. That’s when I decided to get my first good photo on my new camera. It turned out great, that’s also when I found out I particularly have a passion for nature/landscape photography.
The way I make decisions in the course of my work is by finding things or people I find will look great if I were to photograph it or them. How I select objects that are nature related is by finding the nature I find appealing, for example i find most flowers and trees appealing, I find animals appealing, but things like weeds i don’t find that sort of thing appealing. And with people if I'm being completely honest it’s sort of like how i am with nature, I have to find the subject appealing enough to photograph, I'll photograph anyone I just prefer to photograph those who particularly look good in photos. Why I do these things is because that’s just how I do things, and personally I find that by doing things that way, makes for a better photograph in the end.
My current work is good but there’s always room for improvement. It’s grown because I know what to look for, for the style I enjoy doing. In the past I would just photograph whatever, and didn’t really know what my style was but as I began taking more and more photos, I began to know what i’m good at shooting and what i’m not good at shooting. I’m attempting to do more photographing of people because I figure that I need to be good at photographing multiple objects a subjects, just in case I can't find a career out of the style of photography I like. So I need to be open minded about what types of photography styles there are. And I believe that I should learn how to do a little bit of all types of photography, just so that I can have a little bit more skills in photography.
